Truck Transporting Cooking Oil Overturns On NC42

A tractor trailer carrying cooking oil grease overturned on its side on Highway 42 West in Clayton early Saturday.  The accident happened around 4:30am. 

The bio-degradable oil was leaking from the tanker when emergency crews arrived on the scene.  Highway 42 was shut down as crews working to contain the leak and later upright the overturned truck.  No injuries were reported.

The roadway was reopened to traffic around 11:30am.
