Trucks Collide On Interstate 95

FOUR OAKS – Two large trucks collided on Interstate 95 in Four Oaks Friday morning. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes just south of Keen Road (Exit 87).

A slower moving Ram dually pickup towing a trailer hauling two vehicles was struck from behind by a commercial truck transporting pipe. The Ram stopped in the roadway while the second truck came to rest after striking the median guardrail.

After the impact, one of the two vehicles on the trailer landed in the roadway. A second vehicle also broke free but remained partially on the trailer.

Two people in the commercial truck sustained minor injuries and were transported to Wake Med by Johnston County EMS.

The inside lane of I-95 was closed for several hours until the wrecked vehicles could be towed away.

The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. Four Oaks Police and Four Oaks Fire assisted with traffic control.
