Two men were arrested Sunday night, accused of shoplifting several cases of beer from Wal-Mart on Highway 42 in the Cleveland community.
Around 2:25 PM, a loss prevention officer for Wal-Mart called deputies reporting a man entered the store, loaded 4 cases of beer and one case of root beer into a shopping cart and left without paying for the items.
Officers reviewed video surveillance footage of the theft. Sunday night, Cetan Wanagi Merzlak, 21, of Round Pond Circle, Angier and Brian Lee Thurston, 31, of Duchess Drive, Garner were arrested.
Merzlak was charged with larceny. Thurston was arrested for aiding and abetting larceny. Both were given a $1,000 bond. Authorities said the stolen beer had a value of $65.43.
