SELMA – Just before 6:00pm Monday, two cars collided at the intersection of NC 42 East and Thanksgiving Fire Department Road. One driver suffered minor injuries.

The highway was briefly shut down in both directions due to the wreckage and debris in the intersection.

North Side Fire, Johnston County EMS and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the accident. The intersection, the scene of a number of recent accidents and even fatalities, is marked by a large memorial.
