JOHNSTON COUNTY – Two cars collided nearly head-on, Friday afternoon, on Covered Bridge Road just east of Applewhite Road.
Both vehicles lost their left front wheels and tires before spinning around in opposite directions.
One driver was trapped in their car and extricated by Corinth Holders Fire personnel.
Both drivers and their passengers were wearing their seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol.
Despite the severity of the crash, only minor injuries were reported.
