Two Charged With Firing Gun Into Home

Two people were arrested after they allegedly fired shots into a home. The suspects tried to flee from the area but struck a ditch with their car and were quickly apprehended by Sampson County deputies.

The incident occurred on Hinson Road near Clinton on Saturday.

No one inside the home was struck by the bullets. A motive has not been released.

Darisu Blue, 18, of Deerfield Lane, Dunn and Diamonte Webb, 17, of Timber Lane Dunn were both charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.  Both were confined in the Sampson County Jail under a $100,000 bond each.

Sampson County authorities said the weapon of mass destruction charge stemmed from the suspects possessing a sawed-off shotgun which did not meet state and federal guidelines for overall length.

“The victim of the incident did a fantastic job of relaying the pertinent information to the E911 center so that responding officers could apprehend the suspects once on scene,” Sheriff Jimmy Thornton said. “Everyone involved did an outstanding job and I’m grateful no one was injured during the incident.”
