Two church break-ins in Johnston County do not appear to be connected. On Friday, a member of Lanwood Chapel Free Will Baptist located at 3056 Buffalo Road, Smithfield discovered a break-in at a storage shed. Someone cut a lock and removed a push lawnmower valued at $200. The theft is believed to have occurred between Wednesday night and Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, a break-in was discovered at Black Creek Worship located at 17359 Highway 210, Angier. Someone damaged a door frame and safe and stole a small amount of money.
Both cases are under investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
