PRINCETON – A three-car collision sent two to the hospital and two to jail, Monday afternoon.

A driver reportedly slammed his Dodge pickup truck into the rear of a Chevrolet passenger car waiting to turn left from US 70-A onto US 70 eastbound near Princeton. The car was pushed forward into the rear of a Ford pickup truck, which was also waiting to turn.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup was transported to Wake Med. He was later charged with driving while impaired for reportedly being under the influence of suspected narcotics. His one year old daughter, whom he had just picked up, was safely strapped into her car seat and not injured. In addition to the DWI charge, he was cited for child abuse, careless and reckless driving, no seat belt, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
