DUNN – An elderly driver and her passenger were hurt after the passenger car she was operating collided with a hotel. Fortunately, no one inside the hotel was injured.
The accident was reported at 11:01pm Tuesday at Country Inn & Suites Hotel located on E. Pearsall Street in Dunn.
Dunn Police said a 79 year-old Rochdale, New York woman, operating a 2021 Volkwagen, was entering a parking space when she accelerated forward. The car went over the curb and into the side of the hotel.
The driver and a 74 year-old female passenger, also from Rochdale, New York, were transported by Dunn Emergency Services to Betsy Johnson Hospital for evaluation and treatment of very minor injuries.
No charges were filed by police.
Damage to the hotel was estimated at $30,000.
