A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Emely Rosario Diaz, age 24, of Clayton failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a tree. Diaz and a front seat passenger, Sade Nadia Tominson, age 22, of Knightdale died from injuries sustained in the crash.

There were six children riding in the SUV. As of Sunday afternoon, an 8 year-old remains hospitalized in critical condition. A 7 year-old remains in stable condition. The other four children, all under age 3, are also in stable condition in area hospitals.

      • I know a few people in their 50s – well to do – business owners – that refuse to wear them. Before one opened a restaurant he drove a truck for a living and still did not buckle up. Some bs about government telling him what to do..blah blah.
Same with the wreck a few months ago on 70 that killed 3 people – at least the two men were not wearing seat belts…I don’t think the lady in the other vehicle was either.

  1. This is a horrible tragedy but 12 & under? Why weren’t they in proper carseats & booster seats? It’s so sad all this was preventable 😔
Praying for the families involved & quick healing for the children

  2. For this to have happened a half a mile from her house… (they can not say she did not know the area) NO one in a seatbelt… Not even the babies!! Makes you wonder was this done on purpose??
