GARNER – The NC Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on collision this morning that killed two people. It happened around 4:30am on Interstate 40 east near Garner.
Reports indicate a pickup truck crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and struck a garbage truck. Both drivers were killed.
Eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed until 9:30am.
