Two People Bitten By Dog On Neuse River Greenway

SMITHFIELD – A Raleigh couple was injured after being bitten by a dog on the Neuse River Greenway walking trail.  The incident happened shortly after Noon on Saturday near N. Front Street.

The couple was walking when a dog got away from its owner. The dog attacked another animal, then bite a 58 year-old woman and her 60 year-old husband.  Their injuries were minor but it did require medical treatment.

Police Captain R. Sheppard said the incident is still under investigation by the Smithfield Police Department and Smithfield Animal Control.
