Two people were found dead in a mobile home in rural Johnston County on Thursday. The deaths are being treated as a double murder.
At 4:27 PM, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a frantic 911 call after a woman reported finding her boyfriend unresponsive on the floor of his home. Deputies responded to the address, 112 Unity Drive, off Alonzo Road, north of Newton Grove, and found a man and a woman dead. Unconfirmed reports indicate the victims had been shot.
Sheriff Steve Bizzell said a 2 year-old child was found in the home. The toddler was not harmed and was placed with family members.
On Friday, investigators were still at the crime scene collecting evidence. Authorities have not released the names of the victims, however a 911 call reporting the crime was released by the sheriff’s office.
