Two School Board Incumbents Defeated

Sessoms, Sutton, Zukowski Win

Terri Sessoms was the top vote-getter in the race for Johnston County School Board on Nov. 6th.

Johnston County voters sent a message to the Johnston County Board of Education on Tuesday they wanted new leadership and change. Two of 3 incumbents were defeated at the polls.

Incumbent Vice Chair Dorothy Johnson of Clayton was defeated along with incumbent Butler Hall of Four Oaks.

The Johnston County GOP announced last month Hall had dropped out of the race but Hall denied those claims saying he was still in the campaign.

Altogether, eight candidates names were on the ballot for three open seats.

Terri Sessoms won the first seat with 31,349 votes, in unofficial results. Incumbent Todd Sutton won the second seat with 26,030 votes. Tracie Zukowski won the third seat with 25,801 votes.
