Two Smithfield Men Charged In Clayton Business Break-in

CLAYTON – Two Smithfield residents are facing multiple charges after they reportedly broke into a Clayton-area business.

Joshua Shaun Holmes, age 31, of Broadway Street and Damion Daqun Thorne, age 31, of Fayetteville Street, Smithfield are charged with breaking and entering, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, attempted larceny, injury to property, and resisting arrest.

On July 10 around 4:10am, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglar alarm at ADESA Raleigh on Sadisco Road.

Officers reportedly found a fence had been damaged to gain entry and several cars had been entered. While on the scene, Holmes and Thorne were reportedly found inside the fenced lot and detained.

Both men were also charged with felony probation violation.
