Two Week Closure Set For Garner Bridge

GARNER  A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation, will close the bridge on Mial Plantation Road in Garner over the Neuse River so updates can be completed.

Crews will close the bridge Aug. 12 at 8 a.m. and reopen by Aug. 26 at 5 a.m., weather permitting. Some of the updates include concrete deck repair, epoxy overlay, bridge deck grooving, and asphalt paving.

Traffic travelling north will detour by using Old Baucom Road, Rock Quarry Road, Auburn Knightdale Road, Grasshopper Road, and Bethlehem Road to access Mial Planation Road.

Traffic travelling south will detour by using Bethlehem Road, Grasshopper Road, Auburn Knightdale Road, Rock Quarry Road, and Old Baucom Road to access Mial Plantation Road.

Drivers should remain alert and plan for potential delays while using detours.
