Tyler Chapman Inherits KONI Charger Win At Southern National

Postrace technical inspection shuffles results, standings after spring finale

LUCAMA, N.C. – Tyler Chapman inherited the victory from Saturday’s KONI Charger spring finale at Southern National Motorsports Park following postrace technical inspection.

Following the 75 – lap nightcap, the top – three finishers from the race as well as the top – three points finishers all went through postrace technical inspection.  Justin Mitchell, who had originally been credited with the win, and Aiden McConnaughey were both tossed from their second and fourth place finishes due to their camshafts not being in compliance with the Ultra Racing Association rulebook.

Mitchell’s win was disallowed, but he was still able to hold on to second place in the division championship standings.  Aiden McConnaughey, who had finished fourth prior to that finish being disallowed, was relegated from third to fourth in the final standings.

Wesley Johnson, who was also brought into postrace technical inspection following the disqualifications of Mitchell and McConnaughey, moved to third in the final standings when his car cleared tech.

Championship Standings

Following tech, Tyler Chapman was awarded the win with Rusty Daniels, Michael O’Brien, Wesley Johnson and Davis Renfow rounding out the top five.  Daniels was crowned the 2026 division champion.

The top finishers and championship contenders in the Any Car and Vintage divisions cleared tech without issue.
