Update: Attempted Murder Suspects Captured

Update Thursday 9:15pm –  The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timothy Ray and Jennifer Jackson without incident tonight while they were on foot on Griffin Road and Old US 421. Detectives are still searching for the stolen vehicle.

ERWIN – Authorities are searching for two Harnett County men wanted for the attempted murder of a woman near Erwin.

Around 4:30pm Monday,  Harnett County deputies responded to the 200 block of Covington Road for a reported stabbing. First responders found 44 year-old Carol Bennett suffering from numerous stab wounds. Bennett was transported to a hospital and is listed in stable condition.

After the stabbing, the suspects stole the victim’s white 2004 Subaru Outback with Virginia license plate VNN2584. Deputies are searching for the stolen vehicle and two suspects wanted for attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, kidnapping, robbery, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The suspects are identified as Timothy James Ray, 48, of Bunnlevel and Jennifer Ann Jackson, 27, of Erwin.

Anyone that spots the stolen vehicle or the suspects is asked to call 911.
