US 301 Closed In Kenly After Accident

KENLY, N.C. — A crash involving a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer has shut down a portion of US 301 in the Kenly town limits.

The accident occurred around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday near Fourth Street when the pickup struck a power pole, bringing down a utility line across the highway.

The downed line has blocked all lanes of US 301, forcing police to detour traffic while utility crews work to clear the roadway and replace the damaged pole.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and should expect delays for several hours.

Authorities said no injuries were reported.
