Three people were taken to the hospital after the car they were in was struck from behind. The accident happened Sunday morning on the US 70 Clayton Bypass near the Ranch Road Exit.
Initial reports indicate a vehicle was traveling westbound around 2:30 AM when it ran into the back of another westbound car. The car that was hit in the rear was forced into the median and slid under the center divider guardrail.
The NC Highway Patrol is investigating the two vehicle accident.
