SELMA – Two people were transported to area hospitals as a result of a single car crash on US 70 east of Selma, Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities reported the driver drifted off the roadway to the right before overcorrecting, crossing into the median, then overturning as they traveled back across the westbound lanes. The car was stopped from rolling down an embankment by a steel guardrail.
The driver and his passenger escaped serious injuries.
Selma Fire and Johnston County EMS responded with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. One westbound lane of US 70 was shut down during the investigation and cleanup.
