ARCHER LODGE – Three people were injured when a UTV overturned Wednesday in Archer Lodge. The crash occurred on Covered Bridge Road near Buffalo Road.
A witness reported the utility vehicle was operating on Covered Bridge Road when the driver appeared to lose control on a icy section of the highway and overturn in a ditch.

Two of the three occupants in the UTV were ejected. All three people were transported to the hospital, two with potential serious injuries.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Charges are pending.
I’ve seen some people around here doing really stupid things in those vehicles.
I saw them doing donuts on live oak church rd
Definitely wasn’t on live oak church rd so try again
Hey Julie, can you believe that they make more than one Can-am defender? Actually, they make multiple a year and I promise these folks were no where near live oak church rd but I forgot since you and everyone else know everything about them and what happened then you must be right.
And I’ve seen some really stupid people move here
They shouldn’t be allowed on roads in the first place. Their drivers are just as much a nuisance as the liquor cycle drivers. When there is a collision between one of these and a car-it won’t be pretty.
Neither is a pedestrian vs car, bicycle vs car, or motorcycle vs car. All of which are legal ways of transportation. Leave these people alone, enjoy your subdivision, and stay on your side of the pond rocket man.
That’s Supreme Leader to you.
don’t you belong in china or something? please go back, thanks!
Mr. Common Sense arguing with people on the internet. Cope.
Was this utv legal to be on the road? If it’s a motorized vehicle with above 50 hp it needs to be registered and licensed. Key parts of story.
Was it licensed to operate on the road? I saw them flying down covered bridge. They should receive a ticket. Hope they did.
Hope you learn to mind your business and worry about if the people involved are still living instead of if they got a ticket, roger.
Do you not know that it is people like Roger and myself who care about safety? We do not want people flouting the law and neglecting the safety of others. That is our business.
Trust me carl, no one was flouting the law or neglecting the safety of others. accidents happen, all you keyboard warriors and “perfect” people think everyone is doing stuff on purpose and like accidents don’t happen. If this were to be a enclosed vehicle then none of y’all would be saying half the stuff y’all are. go back up north where ya came from.
Yea , I guess I’m out of touch expecting people to consider others safety. Plus, there’s a good chance they wouldn’t even be hurt now if they were following the law so while I hope they recover, the fact that they are injured is on them. It’s called “personal accountability”. You should try it sometime.
The law was followed but I forgot you were there so you know everything that happened, as if ice wasn’t on the road and plenty of other accidents didn’t happen. Like someone stated above, if this was an enclosed vehicle y’all would have nothing to say considering the story on those accidents have no comments on them and they all could have been injured just as bad if not worse in an enclosed vehicle. I hope you find god and a life but seems it might be to late for that so at least move back up north for the sake of everyone in NC cause you obviously don’t know how things are done around here:)
Prayers for them but they fly all up and down our Rd too . They have no seat belts on anc with a small child with them I feel it is unsafe
Different people ….no small child with these folks
They do have seat belts.
Its wild to me all the dumba** comments here just because it is a SXS. The driver hit ice, pray for them and stop being an a**.
This should be practiced. I never understood why all these people feel so entitled.
THANK YOU!
Dear lord, I pray these people will think of others before themselves. I pray that the parents of these people will discipline them so they don’t endanger the lives of each other and that they will think of others which travel on the road. I pray they will have their license revoked and if they don’t have one that they will not receive one for 5 more years to teach them that driving a vehicle on the road is a privilege and that you not only take your life in your hands but the lives of others. I pray that the poster of this comment will realize that the fact there was ice on the road is a reason why they should not have been driving so dangerously in a vehicle that was not meant for road use……Amen.
I didn’t know going 15 mph and driving smartly was so endangering. I guess you need to stay off the road too if you drive over 15mph.They are all grown so their parents won’t be disciplining them, because unlike you and the other keyboard warriors, their parents are more worried about if they are gonna be okay. Everyone still has their license and if it wasn’t meant for the road then they wouldn’t allow it to be road legal at the DMV. xoxo robert.
Ummmm, I don’t see any comment here referring to the vehicle as an “SXS”.
The article Forgot to mention inexperienced Operator.
The article forgot to mention “beware of people who don’t know what they’re talking about comments”. People lose control all the time, driver was very experienced. xoxo
I thank you for reminding people to pray. By the grace of God, these 3 kids are ok. And by kids I mean they’re all legal adults. They all have healing and my son has a long road ahead for his recovery from the injuries he sustained. Pray for all of them. It was an accident and could happen to anyone in or out of a vehicle.
We all see way more people doing stupid things on regular cars with drivers that have suspended licenses, no insurance, and can’t pass a safety inspection. Hope you all look at the next article over and see all the drivers that wrecked passenger cars during this storm. We read articles about car wrecks almost daily and a rarely an off-road vehicle of any kind. UTV’s are absolutely the safest method of transportation during storms like this only second to aircraft. Y’all please keep your Kias and Hondas at your cookie cutter subdivision homes while everyone else does their thing.
“Septic Money” is all you need to tell me.
Tell you what??? That there is money in sh*t?
Entitled, new money. Reckless behavior. Stop arguing with people on the internet. You won’t win.
You swear you know everything don’t you?
I do. Thanks for recognizing it. Done yet?
Not done at all.. we are just getting started! What makes you think this is “new money”
You all don’t know what you are talking about. Septic Money is from a septic tank business…..stop gossiping. Pe pole got hurt just having fun in the snow….nothing else.
Amen!
No, having “fun” driving on the road. Big difference and somewhere they shouldn’t have been.
No need to try to explain things to perfect people…
Yet you keep coming back.
What were the ages of the individuals? Was the vehicle registered to operate on the road? Was the driver licensed to operate a motor vehicle? Were the occupants wearing seat belts? A lot of unanswered questions which are important to the story. My guess is these were young people, perhaps parents should have to pay for the emergency vehicles service as well as any police which had to respond. Parents are the single greatest factor to children’s behavior.
Please people if you don’t knowing what you’re talking about keep comments to yourself…respectively.
Keep playing thinking these things are toys. One wrong flip over and a wheelchair will be their next toy. Learn the hard way.
I love me a good wheelchair ride
All that were involved were of age to operate the atv and have experience with driving one and they all have jobs of their own – no entitlement – they are all hard workers.
I not only pray for the ones involved and their families, but I also pray for all the judgmental people that commented. All it takes is one false move and you or someone in your family could be in the same situation whether it be on an atv, car, or any other kind of form of transportation. We all need to practice the “We listen and we don’t judge” theory!!!
Good luck on enforcing this code on the internet.
