A rural Johnston County church was struck by vandals on Tuesday. Authorities said someone went to Hales Chapel Church, located at 13369 Highway 39 North and spray painted the words “Satin House” on the front door. More spray painting was found on another section of the church building.
The damage was discovered around 8:15pm last night. There are no suspects in the case. Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said a detective has been assigned to the case.
Anyone with information about the vandalism, including anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the church on Tuesday is asked to contact investigators at 919-989-5000. Callers can remain anonymous.
