A Benson farmer estimates loss at $3,000 to his crop after being damaged by a truck, Thursday night.
Around 9:00pm, a pickup truck drove through a soybean field on Pleasant Hill Church Road near the intersection with Benson-Hardee Road, in the West Johnston community and dumped a large number of tree limbs on the property before fleeing.
Witnesses told Johnston County deputies the vehicle was a white Ford F-150 truck with writing on the back glass and side window. The truck was hauling a large number of tree limbs in the bed. The limbs were dumped in the field before the vehicle left the scene.
