CLAYTON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40 year-old Clayton man and seized the BMW passenger car he was reportedly operating following a high speed pursuit.
Cedrick Corteze Hill of Pineland Avenue, Clayton is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and speeding 95 mph in a 55mph zone.
Around 12:23am Sunday, a deputy sheriff reportedly observed a silver 2002 BMW speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on US 70 near Clayton. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to pull over.
The vehicle turned off US 70 onto Powhatan Road and reportedly accelerated to speeds of 95 mph in a 55 mph zone before the driver eventually stopped.
Hill was given a $10,000 bond.
The car was seized under the NC Run and Done Law.
