ANGIER – A Willow Spring man is facing several charges after he reportedly led Johnston County deputies on a brief high speed chase.
It happened around 12:33am Friday, July 19.
According to a spokesperson with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, a patrol deputy was traveling in the 14000 block of NC 210, in western Johnston County when a 2018 Chrysler came up behind him with high beam headlights.
The driver failed to dim his headlight while traveling behind the marked patrol car. The officer pulled over to allow the driver to pass then attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The suspect reportedly accelerated to speeds of 100 miles per hour on NC 210. The car turned onto Old Stage Road then onto a path leading into a field where the deputy lost sight of the vehicle.
A short time later the deputy located the vehicle abandoned in a field in the 600 block of Old Stage Road. A K-9 tracked the suspect to a nearby residence but officers were unable to locate the driver.
Authorities seized the vehicle and obtained warrants for the reported driver, identified as Tyler James Fish, 35, of the 500 block of Old Stage Road, Willow Spring.
Around 5:00pm July 19, Fish was located and charged with several offenses including felony fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and possession of an open container. He was given a $10,450 bond.

Glad the Deputy was ok. I wonder why the guy was running?
Community organizers have taught the populace that running is ok. The police are at fault for chasing you.
Doesn’t matter what you’ve done,,, the law must have been unjust….
