CLAYTON – Law enforcement officers seized a car under the NC Run and Done law following a high speed chase.
On June 13 around 1:47am, a Johnston County deputy attempted to stop the operator of a 2016 Lexus for speeding and running a red light on NC 42 West.
The driver reportedly refused to pull over and accelerated to approximately 130 miles per hour while traveling towards Clayton. After several miles the suspect was stopped on NC 42 inside the Clayton city limits.
Winston Thurgood Marshall, age 18, of Garner was charged with numerous offenses including fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, speeding, reckless driving, failure to heed light or siren, failure to dim headlamps, and failure to stop at a red light.
Bail was set at $25,000.
No injuries were reported.
What is wrong with these young people? How ironic that part of his name is Thurgood Marshall. Thurgood Marshall was the first black Supreme Court justice and a fine man. He wouldn’t approve of this young man behavior.
It’s all fun and games until they kill someone and end up in prison for vehicular homicide.
To bad Marshall did not run off the road and hit a tree. That POS could have killed a LEO pr someone going thru the intersection. I hate people that do not care who they kill as long as they can try to run from the law. I know some of you may not agree with me but this is how I feel.
Yikes
