The Wake County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is investigating a fire that’s claimed the life of one person.
Shortly after 4:00am today, deputies responded to a house fire at 3405 Rock Quarry Road, after first responders discovered a body inside the fire scene.
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Jermain Watson of Raleigh.
According to family members, the victim was living in an outbuilding behind the main house. The outbuilding was the only structure that burned.
The initial finding is that the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
Members of the WCSO’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Wake County Fire Marshal’s office were dispatched to the scene to continue to find the cause of the fire.
