Victim Seriously Injured After Gunman Opens Fire On Home

A Johnston County man was seriously injured after being shot while inside his home Tuesday morning.  The 49 year-old man was inside a singlewide mobile home around 12:10am when someone opened fire striking the home multiple times.  One of the bullets struck the victim who was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Johnston County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at 140 Hidden Acres Drive in the Red Hill community, off Buffalo Road just south of Highway 42 East of Clayton around 12:10am.

The front yard of the address was littered with shell casings and evidence markers.  The front of the home had numerous bullet holes.

We’re told that at least two other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not struck.
