Smithfield Police are looking for three suspects wanted for the robbery and beating of a Smithfield man.
The incident was reported Wednesday night on Landmark Drive in West Smithfield.
Police Chief Keith Powell said a 21 year-old man was sitting in his car with a female he had just met when a light colored SUV pulled up behind his vehicle. Three black male suspects jumped out of the SUV and attacked the man, beating him then stealing his cell phone.
The victim was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment. The suspects fled in the SUV before police arrived and at last report still remain at large.
