Wake Radiology To Provide Radiology Services At Johnston Health

The area’s largest diagnostic imaging practice extends care in Johnston County

RALEIGH – Wake Radiology, the Triangle’s leader in quality medical imaging, was recently awarded the reading contract at Johnston Health and will soon begin providing subspecialty radiology services to patients at both the hospital’s Clayton and Smithfield locations. This is a return to care at the hospital for Wake Radiology. Previously, the practice provided radiology services to Johnston Health for nearly 25 years.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Johnston Health again,” said Lyndon Jordan III, MD, FACR, President and Managing Partner at Wake Radiology. “Our doctors are committed to providing quality and compassionate care to all of our patients. We believe our team’s expertise and focus will enable us to provide subspecialty diagnostic imaging and interventional services to patients right in their hometown hospital.”

Since 1953, Wake Radiology has grown to be the area’s largest and oldest outpatient radiology practice with nearly 60 subspecialty radiologists plus a clinical and support team of more than 300 people. The practice has been a fixture in Johnston County for more than 30 years and was the first practice to open a dedicated mammography and breast imaging office in Smithfield in 2014.

In addition to Johnston Health, Wake Radiology provides inpatient, hospital-based radiology services to UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh and to Maria Parham Health facilities in Henderson and Louisburg, NC. The practice also has 14 outpatient medical imaging offices located throughout the greater Triangle in partnership with UNC REX Healthcare. Wake Radiology has maintained uninterrupted certification from the FDA and earned 11 quality accreditations from the American College of Radiology for MRI, CT, ultrasound, lung cancer screening, nuclear medicine, mammography and breast biopsy.

“Wake Radiology’s highly trained radiologists are known for their actionable interpretations and compassionate care. They have earned the trust and respect of patients and area health professionals,” said Tom Williams, president and CEO of Johnston Health. “We’re thrilled to welcome them back to our hospital and see them extend their radiology services in our community.”

Wake Radiology UNC REX will begin its radiology reading contract at Johnston Health on Friday, October 1, 2021.
