WakeMed Lifts Visitation Restrictions

RALEIGH – Effective Monday, February 16, children of all ages who are free of contagious illnesses are welcome in all hospital nursing units and patient care areas across WakeMed. A decrease in the prevalence of respiratory illnesses in the community prompts the return to normal visitation status.

Visitation restrictions help reduce the risk of infection for patients, and WakeMed appreciates the support and cooperation of patients, their loved ones, and the surrounding community over the past two months.

The annual seasonal visitor restrictions were implemented in December 2025.

If you have symptoms of any acute, contagious illness, please do not visit WakeMed out of respect for patients.
