A Benson man was arrested during a SAFE Team license checkpoint Wednesday afternoon.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office SAFE Team had set up the checkpoint on Old Fairground Road near Benson when a vehicle approached. Authorities said a passenger told them he had no identification. When asked for identification, he reportedly gave a fictitious name and birth date to the officers.
Deputies were eventually able to identify the man as 28 year-old Moises Molina of Weeks Drive. Molina was wanted for felony probation violation. While taking him into custody a small amount of suspected meth and a syringe were found in his possession.
Molina was charged with felony possession of meth, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer. Bail was set at $22,000 on those charges. An additional $50,000 bond was set on the probation violation warrant.
