Wayne County Deputies Identify Homicide Victim

GOLDSBORO – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man shot and killed at his home. At 10:33pm Friday, the Wayne County 911 Center received a report of a shooting at 112 Carmel Lane outside of Goldsboro.

Wayne County deputies responded and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies attempted to render medical aid, however the victim was declared dead at the scene by EMS workers.

The victim has been identified as 31 year-old Mayor Perez Vazquez of the address. His body has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Detectives are continuing their investigation. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
