WCPS Announces School Administration Change

GOLDSBORO – During its monthly meeting this week, the Wayne County Board of Education approved the following principal change:

Eastern Wayne Middle assistant principal, Edward “E.J.” Cromartie, Jr, was named the principal of Mount Olive Middle. Mr. Cromartie has 15 years of public education experience. He has served as an assistant principal at Brogden Middle, North Drive Elementary and Eastern Wayne Middle. Prior to entering school administration, Mr. Cromartie taught at Mount Olive Middle and Goldsboro High. Mr. Cromartie holds a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education and a master’s degree in executive leadership.

“Mr. Cromartie is a passionate school administrator who has proven himself as an effective leader,” stated Dr. David Lewis, WCPS interim superintendent. “Mr. Cromartie is already very familiar with Mount Olive Middle and its staff. Our district’s leadership team will support him during his transition to ensure a smooth transition for the school.

No official date has been set for the administrative change.
