Cause under investigation
The Harnett County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a mobile home in Angier. No one was hurt.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday, members of the Angier-Black River Fire Department were paged out to a residential structure fire involving a mobile home. First units arrived to find the mobile home was 50 percent engulfed in flames.
According to interim Angier-Black River Fire Chief Donnie Moore, the mobile home was not occupied. He said someone had been working on it to repair it. There was electricity tied to the mobile home, but Chief Moore was uncertain if the power was on. As a precaution, Duke Energy was called to make sure the electricity was off.
The home was a total loss.
The Angier-Black River Fire Department was assisted by the Coats-Grove Fire Department. Angier Police, Harnett County EMS and the Harnett County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the scene.
