The West Johnston High Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year at the North Carolina State Conference.

West Johnston High was named the North Carolina SADD Chapter of the Year for all of the projects that were done at the school and in the community throughout the year. The school won this award for the second consecutive year.

While at the conference students attended workshops on different topics to promote safe decisions. Senior Gavin Brundidge served on the State SADD Student Advisory Board this year and helped to plan and run the conference.

“Gavin was a great speaker and showed great leadership throughout the conference weekend,” said adviser Amanda Fisher. “We are so fortunate to have such strong leadership at our school. Students who put in a lot of time and effort to make the West Johnston SADD Chapter the best that is can be.”
