Wilson Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound around 12:22am Sunday after responding to a 911 call in the 600 block of Lincoln Street.
Officers said they found the victim lying in the roadway. Officers began resuscitation efforts until Wilson Fire-Rescue Services and Wilson County EMS personnel arrived.
Authorities said the victim, 31 year-old Harry Evangelist Beecher was suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest and died from his injuries. The investigation into Beecher’s death is still ongoing.
