A $522,500 bid has been awarded to replace the roof at Wilson’s Mills Elementary School. The project will be paid for with funds from the 2018 Johnston County Public Schools Bond Referendum.
The roof replacement was originally scheduled for the 2021-2022 fiscal year but the work is being done ahead of schedule.
Southern Metal Systems Inc. of Wendell will install a new metal roof on top of the existing roof that is beyond repair. Other bids for the replacement project ranged from $585,000 to $820,000.
