WILSON’S MILLS – A community that loves to give back. Wilson’s Mills is striving to give back to their community and striking out food insecurities is its first goal.

Grocery prices are on the rise, and numerous families are facing the realization that food is not as easy to put on the table anymore.

Brought together by council members and Town staff, a donation of over $900 in food was recently delivered to Wilson’s Mills Elementary School for their newly implemented Drive Through Food Pantry. This service was implemented by the school’s counselor, Alease Young. Families in need received a prepackaged bag of food from the school, quickly and easily in a drive through format.

Donations are currently being accepted for the Food Pantry. You call the school for more information.

The Wilson’s Mills Public Works Director also implemented a type of blessing box for Wilson’s Mills and surrounding citizens to utilize. Since the fall of 2023, it has served many citizens facing food insecurities. Inside the Share Shed there are non-perishable foods, toiletries, baby food, diapers, infant essentials, and blankets, coats, and other winter accessories.

If you would like to contribute to the Share Shed, donations are accepted inside Town Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 5:00pm, or donations can be left neatly inside the Share Shed after hours. The address is 4083-C Wilson’s Mills Road.

  1. Thank you for realizing the need. So many people in JoCo are fine with children being hungry because of political beliefs. Sad they don’t know what it is like to care for our fellow humans. The church has failed so many hearts…ice cold and worthless humans they are.

  2. I am proud of Wilson mills. Now someone need to step up and do something about these housing authority waiting list, it’s actually so many families living in hotels paying so much money weekly to where it’s really hard to support they children. Let’s talk about that as well
