The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning, from 1:00PM Friday to 10:00AM Saturday, for most of Central North Carolina, including Johnston County.
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to three inches and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch are possible across Central NC with the highest snow accumulations along the Virginia border.
In Johnston County, there is a chance of snow, sleet and freezing rain which could make travel dangerous. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute, according to the National Weather Service.
