A woman police said was intoxicated when she flagged down an officer Sunday night is now facing felony charges.
Smithfield Police said 51 year-old Pamela Sue Sandy of US 301 North, Selma flagged down the officer in the 400 block of East Market Street. Captain R.K. Powell said Sandy was intoxicated and disruptive. She was taken into custody for disorderly conduct. While being transported to jail, Sandy allegedly spit on the officer, resulting in a felony charge of malicious conduct by a prisoner.
Sandy was booked into the Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $40,000 bond.
