GOLDSBOR0 – A 26 year-old Wayne County woman has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a 15 year-old.
Wayne County deputies said they received a report of a sexual assault occurring in 2016. The victim was 15 at the time of the alleged assault.
Information was recently received that authorities said was instrumental in assisting them complete the investigation and make an arrest.
Jessica Lynn Uzzell of W. Tarklin Drive, Goldsboro was charged Thursday with first-degree statutory rape and first-degree statutory sexual offense.
Officials said Uzzell and the victim were acquaintances.
Uzzell was arrested without incident and held in the Wayne County Jail under a $750,000 secured bond.
