SAMPSON COUNTY – A Sampson County woman died from injuries sustained in a single car accident. The State Highway Patrol said the collision happened at 7:24pm Saturday at the intersection of Autryville Road and Roseboro Highway.
Troopers said Patricia Gail Rich, age 70, of Clinton was traveling southbound on Autryville Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Roseboro Highway. Her 2012 Nissan ran off the roadway straight ahead and struck a ditch. After impact, the Nissan came to rest in a ditch facing southeast.
Rich was transported to Sampson Regional Hospital where she died. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
