Update: Martha Jean Looney was located Friday night at a rescue mission in Durham. She was in good health.
Smithfield Police are asking for help locating a missing person last seen leaving the Classic Care Rest Home on Annie Parker Circle.
A Silver Alert has been issued for Martha Jean Looney after she left for her routine walk Thursday morning but failed to return to the facility.
Looney was last seen around 10:00am Thursday leaving for her daily walk according to staff who reported her missing.
Looney is a 59 year-old white female, 5 foot 7, 145 pounds, with salt and pepper hair. She was last seen wearing a brown sweater, blue jeans, black trench coat. She was also carrying a blue denim bag.
Due to medical and visual impairment issues, Smithfield Police are concerned about her wellbeing. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Martha Jean Looney is asked to contact Smithfield Police at 919-934-2121. Photo by John Payne
