A Four Oaks woman was robbed moments after withdrawing money from an ATM on Friday afternoon. The victim was not harmed, but the suspect made away with all of her money.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 210 at Interstate 40 outside of Benson. Around 4:15pm, the victim went to the ATM and withdrew cash. After the 46 year-old victim turned around she encountered the suspect who demanded she hand over the money. She complied and the suspect fled.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the suspect was a tall, slender black male. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. On Monday, Captain Caldwell told JoCoReport.com that detectives were following up on leads in the investigation.
