As of Monday morning, the NC Medical Examiner’s Office has still not identified the body of a man who was found in a creek June 4th near the Amelia Village Apartments off Amelia Church Road in Clayton.
An adult and two teenagers were headed to the creek to fish when they discovered the badly decomposed body.
Authorities said a preliminary autopsy on Friday could not determine how the man died. There were no obvious signs of foul play.
Officials are using dental records to compare with missing persons cases in the area to see if they can find a match.
