Dunn Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery which took place Tuesday night at Burger King located at 1004 E. Cumberland St. The suspect apparently got cold feet before carrying out his plans.
At 9:21 p.m., Dunn Police officers responded to a robbery call at Burger King. An employee of the Burger King reported an unidentified black man, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a heavy build, entered the restaurant with a white t-shirt concealing his face. After he entered the restaurant, he announced there was an armed robbery while waving a handgun and demanding money.
“At that time, the suspect was possibly startled and exited the business from a side door of the restaurant,” Dunn Police Chief Chuck West said.
No one was hurt.
