Teenage phenom to make Late Model Stock Car debut on Wednesday night

LUCAMA, NC – Wyatt Miller, grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt, will make his Late Model Stock Car debut in Wednesday night’s Jerry Moody Memorial at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Miller will also compete on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, driving car no. 73 for JR Motorsports.

“I am really excited to have the chance to race a Late Model Stock Car for JR Motorsports,” Miller said. “Last season, I found some success making a few Limited Late Model starts at Hickory Motor Speedway. This type of racing is different than what I am used to. I am excited to learn how to manage longer races on pavement.”

Miller competed at Hickory Motor Speedway last season, picking up his first win on March 8, 2025. He is the son of Kelly Earnhardt Miller and L.W. Miller, III. Kelly Earnhardt Miller is the chief executive officer for JR Motorsports.

Miller tested at Southern National last week, along with JR Motorsports teammate Caden Kvapil. Kvapil won Saturday’s Folsom Fence Supply 125, the season opening race for the zMAX CARS Tour.

“Southern National is a very technical racetrack,” Miller said. “I have to make sure that I am consistently hitting my marks every lap.”

Wednesday night’s “I Dig Pigs” 125, which is the headline race in the Jerry Moody Memorial presented by Big Kahuna Pools and Spas, kicks off four straight days of racing at Southern National Motorsports Park and also serves as the second race in the I-95 Showdown. Legend Cars and Bandoleros will also be on the schedule.

Tickets are available at the gate for each race during Speed Week 2026.
