1 Killed, 1 Injured In Johnston County Shooting

ZEBULON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double shooting that left one person dead and another seriously wounded.  Deputies responded to a 911 call around 5:20AM Friday near the address of 11554 NC Highway 96 North, Zebulon in northern Johnston County.

Officers located 43 year-old Antonio Franco from the Princeton-Kenly area dead at the scene.  A 33 year-old woman from the Wendell area was found suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital. Her name has not been released.

Detectives are searching for the alleged gunman who fled from the scene before they arrived.  Clemente Hernandez-Mojica, age 61, also uses the alias of Reberiano Moreno-Vega.  His last known address was in the Wendell area. 

Warrants have been obtained for Clemente Hernandez-Mojica. Once located he will be charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

A motive has not been released.
